Good News
I just talked to my dad a moment ago. Hammond is doing a good job of clearing fallen trees/debis from the streets, and there are a lot of Entergy trucks in the area waiting to head into New Orleans. Since they can't get any closer to the city for a little while yet, he said, they are expected to try to clean up the power lines they can reach on the North Shore. Big, big, big sigh.

I'm glad to hear your family are okay. From what I read there is a still a long way to go to begin to clear the devestation.
